After Lynda Barry: A Hand Drawn Syllabus

This work should be familiar to anyone who has seen Lynda Barry’s incomparable book Syllabus. I decided to start the new year by trying my hand (literally) at manual syllabus-making. Why should such a standard document like a syllabus be boring?

Wow, what a lot of work, especially copying the boilerplate blurbs on Academic Honesty and Academic Accommodations!

This is still a work in progress, but I have some major pieces going here.

I especially enjoyed making the little graphics that go with the text. I’m including my dog Daisy as a major syllabus character. I think she would enjoy college if she could attend classes.

I am still putting things together, but I like what I’ve made so far. Stay tuned for further updates.
